McDonalds

The 19th of May, on a Monday, the prestigious McDonalds restaurant had implemented plans on making their infamous 'Happy Meals' more nutritious for their customers giving a choice to add yogurt as a side meal. This plan is said to start happening on the 4th of July offering a low-calorie strawberry GoGurt modified specifically for McDonalds containing 25% less sugar than the standard Yoplait GoGur with approximately 50 calories. It has also been reported later on in the year, all McDonalds in the U.S. will stop advocating soft drinks as Happy Meal options on menus and instead, promote milk, juice, or water.

Theft

A man by the name of Edmund Allen, 22 has been recently accused of grand theft stealing $400 from a group of girl scouts selling their cookies outside their local grocery store. Taking place in St. Augustine, FL, Allen deliberately took the jar full of money and it was reported he ran off into the streets through the store parking lot. Days later after the theft, Allen was apprehended while being caught smoking weed in a shed with his friends. Due to the likely chance of the stolen money already spent, the girl scout community never received their money back however, members of the local law force committee as well as local businesses have raised approximately around $800 for the girl scouts.

Condiments

Imagine you're at a restaurant and you've just ordered a burger. Selected chains across the nation have considered of implementing the idea of charging extra for a packet of mustard or ketchup that you just ordered for your burger. In these economically tough times, restaurants have had the idea of putting this into effect but according to a recent survey conducted from the NPD Group, 80%+ consumers stated they would not even pay a tiny amount for a condiment, with half of them stating they would simply would walk out the door and go somewhere else if they were charged for their condiment. Would you personally pay for a packet of your favorite condiment?

Baseball

A new rule has been recently approved by the MLBPA (Major League Baseball Player's Association) involving the prohibition and dis allowance of collisions at home plate. This new impending rule protects catchers from hard impacted hits prohibiting base runners crashing and colliding head on at home plate. This new rule is implemented especially to prevent concussions and serious injuries that are potential in this kind of deliberate collision. Executive director of MLBA, Tony Clark, states the rule will be an experimental basis for the 2014 season. Boston Red Sox catcher, A.J. Pierznyski states, "I disagree with it,'' "I understand why they're doing it, but next, they're going to tell us that you can't slide into the guy at second base."It's one of those things, as a big-league catcher, I signed up for it. You never want to see guys get hurt, and you never want to see guys go down because of it, but it's part of the game you signed up for.
